Info from a friend

I've got a friend, who I met in Mexico a couple months ago and had long rambling conversations about neuro-philosophy with, living in Hamra west Beirut. He sent me an email this morning saying that

"they took over my area, and up until this morning, i could see gunmen on my street. theyve also set up their flags. this whole thing is really quite disgusting. they attacked a funeral march today, killing 6 and wounding over 30."

Further more he says that

"They also attacked an Armenian radio station, which is strange because they have deliberately not involved christians thus far."


He's staying safe for now but I fear how safe any of West Beirut can stay. Very sad. Very worrying.
