Close readers of this blog will know that I'm no fan of Obama, some may even know I'm writing my thesis on his rhetoric and the American civil religion. Alex Brill and Allan D Viard have gone through his tax plan and taken it apart. What will Obama's "middle class" pander, sorry tax cut, actually result in? Much higher marginal rates for the lowest paid. Nice work Barrack. Give it a read. Don't let him become President without due scrutiny.

Brill and Viard didn't 'take apart' Obama's tax plan. Viard himself says that Obama's plan would cut taxes for lower and middle earners.
Their graph would be more useful for non-economists if it also included a comparison of after-tax-and-transfer income under Obama's plan compared to the current situation and McCain's plan. What this would show is that lower and middle earners are better off under Obama's tax plan.
